A year or so ago a friend of mine handed me Light a Match For I Deserve to Burn. The Beautiful Mistakes debut album. I enjoyed it so much I picked up their sophomore album; This is Who You Are. The first time I listened to it I was slightly disappointed, The band had removed most of the screaming parts that were so prevalent on the first album. But then I listened to it again and realized that The Beautiful Mistake hadn’t changed, but matured. I listened to track threes “my reminder” and was blown away. It was undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and well-written love songs I had ever heard. Not only have these guys put together great guitar rifts but every song on the record is filled with insightful and heartfelt lyrics. If you want to expand your mind and your CD collection go pick up a copy. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
