You have to give it to the street punks, they are a dying breed holding on to the last ounce of energy and furry they held in the eighties and early nineties; each number one single by a pop punk band and stud sold by a Hot Topic brings them one step closer to their demise. They are almost lost in today’s society, while trying to make an impact they are blending in more and more with current trends…

Take the Havoc for instance, the album came in a slip case which is typical for Punkcore and their affiliates (somehow making it seems very punk rock), but the sleeve is glossy and you can just see the amount of time, money and effort put into something that is supposed to seem spur of the moment; almost like their hair and jackets.

But that is just the artwork and design, the music itself it a blur of punked out power riffs and hardcore guttural vocals that scream out aggression, combining three new studio tracks with three live tracks you can practically hear these guys blister through the set at a pace rarely matched. They want you to feel how punk rock they are, because they were punk rock before you ever thought about wearing studded jewelry or hawking your hair with Elmer’s glue.

I am not especially a fan of this genre of music, but I appreciate it so much more then the million suburban pop punk bands that liter the landscape – these guys have a mission and a voice that they intend to use even if no one is listening, and Punkcore will be the label to bring you the message.

If you are a fan of hardcore/street punk I would highly recommend checking this EP out, and from the sound of it their next full length should be a great listen as well.
