Personally I am not a big fan of industrial music’s fascination of death, pain and the suffering of others; but I love the music, the clashing beats, the synth heavy vocals, it is music to make my veins pump with adrenaline. I am a happy person and although I enjoyed the occasional ‘we hate all of you’ lyrics, they are not something I want to hear and dwell on in every album, with every song and every single – because it becomes the downer that drives me nuts.
So about the album, it is a fun attack of EBM, with ‘club mix’ written all over it (albeit, the electro-goth-industrial clubs, and not for ravers), the music sounds fresh and inventive, although not very innovative. The music is constructed in such a manner that it will keep any fan of this genre more then happy.
But that brings me back to the lyrics, the vulgarity of each song bleeds into my ears and destroys any hope of me really liking this album, or playing it in the future. The hate and bitterness expressed has no direction and seemingly no foundation, it is just blatant and dirty for the sake of being dirty. Perhaps it is supposed to be taken as sarcasm, but the negative images it creates are anything but sarcastic and are very much unnecessary and in turn it negates any love I have for the actual music.
I would never recommend this.
