There was a point in time, less then five years ago, that bands like this would have been an alternative, they would have stood out and really meant something to someone; but as it is the soundscape has changed so much and the overall feel of modern rock has severely shifted to the former alternative.
The music is fun, if nothing new, and they perform it with class and style. This is a perfect example of a band that is not trying to re-invent the wheel, they just want to perform and have a good time and sometimes it is much more refreshing to hear that instead of the latest ‘new’ style.
One thing you have to give the band though, they are not afraid to speak their mind or mask their religious beliefs – Christianity stands on the forefront through most of the album, and they throw a brutal assault at the enemies of their God. Their best song, overall would easily be the Julianna Theory-esque “Romance In Denial” (and all the emo kids let out one big sigh), the lyrics are pleasant and catchy and you will be humming along with them in no time.
I had a great time listening to this album in the car, driving around just getting a feel of who they are, but once the engine stops and the music fades, there is nothing there to remember, they blended perfectly into the faceless monster of modern rock. I believe they have potential to be something really great, a rock band to rise above the rest; but as it stands they are forgettable.
I do have a complaint with the album cover and layout though, it was one bright eyesore.
